Lineside Civils & De-Vegetation Operatives

We are currently recruiting experienced Lineside Civils & De-Vegetation Operatives for ongoing rail projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of rail infrastructure, vegetation management and maintenance projects, with competitive rates, flexible working patterns and long-term opportunities available.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification and Sentinel card
  • Experience working in or near rail environments with a good understanding of trackside conditions
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a rail infrastructure environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards at all times
  • Willingness and ability to work away from home during weekend shifts as required
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable) / Preferably own vehicle

Experienced & Skills

  • Vegetation management competencies including:
    • Strimmer
    • Brush Cutter
    • Hedge Trimmer
  • Experience carrying out basic construction or civil engineering activities
  • Experience installing and maintaining access systems including steps, platforms and walkways
  • Experience in drainage, troughing and cable route works
  • Experience working alongside signalling and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Additional rail competencies such as COSS, First Aid or related safety-critical qualifications would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out lineside civils works including drainage, troughing, cable routes, fencing and general infrastructure maintenance
  • Undertake vegetation clearance and management activities in accordance with project specifications
  • Safely operate vegetation management equipment and small tools
  • Install and maintain trackside access systems where required
  • Work collaboratively with site teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Comply with all rail safety, environmental and operational procedures
