Commercial Manager - Cost Verification/ Audit in Milton Keynes

Are you a commercial manager with experience of cost verification and auditing on major infrastructure projects?

Location: Milton Keynes - minimum 3 days per week in the office, 2 days remote

Rate / Salary: £500 per day all-in, Inside IR35, or up to £80,000 permanent salary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join a cost consultancy supporting HS2 Ltd with cost verification and commercial assurance activity.

This role will focus on reviewing costs submitted by the main contractor, ensuring costs are accurate, properly evidenced and in line with contractual requirements.

This would suit a commercially strong individual with rail, major infrastructure or audit experience, alongside strong NEC contract knowledge.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing cost submissions, assessing supporting documentation, identifying discrepancies, challenging costs where appropriate and supporting robust commercial governance across a major infrastructure programme.

You will be working closely with the consultancy team, HS2 stakeholders and wider commercial teams to provide clear, evidence-based commercial advice.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial management experience within rail or major infrastructure, good NEC knowledge, and previous experience in cost audit, cost verification, commercial assurance or reviewing contractor costs.

Experience working on large-scale rail or infrastructure programmes would be highly beneficial.

This is an immediate requirement and would suit someone available at short notice who can commit to being in Milton Keynes at least 3 days per week.
