We are a multi-disciplined contractor with a service portfolio that covers track, trades, civils, OLE, signalling and telecoms along with trackside lighting and safety barrier fencing. In this respect, we are a forward-thinking business that has the ability to undertake large scale contract works delivering a variety of services such as structures, track drainage, earthworks and lineside infrastructure works under one umbrella.
We have established a network of offices across the whole of the UK where we pro-actively recruit from within the local community to fully support our clients on a National Basis. We are looking for an experienced P&D Construction Manager to lead the delivery of plant and distribution works for rail substation projects. This role will support the P&D team in delivering allocated contracts safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.
You will take responsibility for managing site operations, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, quality, and resource plans, while acting as the key interface between project management, engineering, and site delivery teams. You will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities, including input into design, budgeting, and buildability, while ensuring client requirements are met. The role involves managing site teams and subcontractors, maintaining high standards of safety, productivity, and quality across all operations.
Acting as a key interface between project management, engineering, and site delivery, you will facilitate collaboration across project teams, resolve issues and conflicts, and ensure effective communication at all levels. You will provide regular progress updates, address risks and challenges proactively, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned throughout the construction process.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager within P&D / rail power infrastructure
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- OLEC1 Qualification
- Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex site operations
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Full UK driving licence
- SMSTS
- Desirable:
- Experience delivering rail substation or power infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor responsibilities
- First Aid qualification

- Level B substation access
