Project Manager - Civils

Location: Manchester / North West
Contract: Initial 8-month contract
Rate: £400–£450 per day

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Civils Project Manager to lead a significant civil engineering project in the North West. The scope of works will include bridges, tunnels, drainage and earthworks, so a strong technical understanding of civils is essential.

We’re looking for a civils-biased Project Managerwith a background in civil engineering, rail or construction, and proven experience managing complex projects from delivery through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee major civils activities, ensuring safe, timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and resources.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Drive project performance and resolve issues effectively.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Construction Manager with strong Civils experience.
  • Background in Construction, Civil Engineering or Rail.
  • Experience delivering major civils projects, ideally involving structures, earthworks, drainage or tunnelling.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, programmes and project controls.
  • Hold your SMSTS
  • CSCS card – Black Manager/Professional level preferred.
  • PTS – desirable for candidates with rail experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
