Are you an experienced Asset Manager or Asset Engineer with Civils experience? Are you looking for a role where you can influence the long-term maintainability of a major infrastructure programme?
This is a unique opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant rail projects and play a key role in ensuring that a brand-new railway is safe, maintainable and fit for operation for decades to come. Working within the Infrastructure Maintenance and Asset Management team, you will act as the future maintainer's representative, reviewing assets as they transition from construction into operation. Rather than managing day-to-day maintenance activities, you will provide assurance that assets have been designed, built and documented in a way that supports safe and efficient long-term maintenance.
This is a highly influential position within a specialist civils asset team, offering exposure to a diverse portfolio of structures, earthworks, drainage systems, tunnels, viaducts and line-side buildings across a nationally significant railway programme.
Essential requirements:
- Experience working as an Asset Manager, Senior Asset Engineer or similar asset-focused role within a railway or major infrastructure environment such as highways
- Strong understanding of civil engineering assets and their maintenance requirements
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, maintenance requirements and asset information
- Ability to identify operational and maintainability risks and communicate recommendations effectively
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Practical, hands-on industry experience with a clear understanding of asset lifecycle management
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience within asset management, asset engineering or infrastructure maintenance
Desired:
- Structures asset management experience
- Rail infrastructure experience within Network Rail, HS2, TfL, contractors or consultancies
- Experience with bridges, viaducts, tunnels, earthworks or drainage assets
- Asset Protection (ASPRO) experience
- Highways civils asset management experience with an understanding of operational infrastructure risks
- Client-side asset management experience, although strong contractor-side candidates will also be considered
This position would suit someone who enjoys influencing engineering decisions, challenging designs where necessary and ensuring infrastructure is delivered with long-term operational success in mind. If you're ready to play a key role in shaping the future of UK rail infrastructure, we'd love to hear from you.
