Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the production of tender estimates and technical submissions.
- Ensuring that delegated work is correctly planned, resourced, executed in accordance with client specifications, standards, relevant legislation, technical, safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure the risks and control measures associated with the company’s activities are identified and allowed for within bid submissions.
- Responsible for the production of estimates and production of bid / no bid assessment of opportunities.
- Production of productivity metrics for all works with operational staff at bid stage.
- Responsible for initial terms and conditions review at tender stage and attending tender de-briefing with clients for unsuccessful bids.
- Responsible for the facilitation of handover meetings to the commercial and department and operations at contract award.
- Formulation of budgets, labour allocations, productivity metrics and PMO provisioning for secured works at contract award at handover stage.
- Ensure that projects spend costs are in accordance with the tender prices submitted and Candy cost breakdowns.
- Re-rate bill items as necessary post award of contract(s) during a post award review of rates.
- Ensure bids are compliant with company systems and procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proficient use and knowledge of software such as CANDY, MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience in managing diverse groups of people in technical / commercial and operational environments.
- Well-developed client facing skills with a client orientated approach.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational & planning skills.
- Able to balance competing priorities and meet personal targets within a fluctuating & demanding workload.
- Line management experience.
Desired Skills
- Minimum academic qualification to HND, preferably degree level in a relevant technical related discipline.
- Membership of related Professional Institutes either by Professional examination or experience.
- Minimum 10 years’ pre con and estimating experience working in a project delivery or operational engineering environment within the Metro / Rail Industry.
