Salary: £54,698 + Shift Premium + Overtime + On-Call

A client organisation is looking for multiple experienced S&T Team Leaders to support critical maintenance, faulting, inspection, and renewal works across the network. The Role:

As an S&T Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading and motivating a team delivering safety‑critical rail works across the network. You'll ensure all activities are completed safely, compliantly, and to the highest operational standards. This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong technical signalling background alongside leadership capability and a proactive approach to safety, quality, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and organise signalling maintenance, inspection, faulting, and renewal activities
  • Ensure safe systems of work and robust safety arrangements are maintained at all times
  • Monitor quality, compliance, and team competence across all works
  • Ensure tools, vehicles, plant, and equipment remain fit for purpose
  • Produce operational and compliance reports to support delivery performance
  • Support and mentor team members while setting high working standards
  • Work collaboratively with Network Rail teams, contractors, and stakeholders

Essential Experience:

  • Previous Team Leader experience
  • Organising and delivering signalling works safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of signalling maintenance, faulting, inspection, and renewal techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant Network Rail standards including:
    • NR/L3/SIG/10663
    • NR/L3/SIG/11231
  • Valid IRSE Combined Signalling Maintainer & Fault Finder Licence (1.4.230)

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, nights, and on‑call as required
