Design Coordinator / Document Controller
Location: York
Rate: £350 per day Umbrella PAYE
Contract length: 12 months
We are recruiting for an experienced Design Coordinator / Document Controller to support the delivery of multi-disciplinary design projects within the rail and infrastructure sector. This is a key role providing coordination between design teams, project management, and the client, ensuring all documentation, processes, and deliverables are managed efficiently and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage design documentation in ProjectWise, including uploads, version control, permissions, and issuing through Deliverables Management.
- Organise and chair PDR (Plan Do Review) meetings and manage the control board ahead of progress meetings.
- Produce and maintain key project documentation: Survey Strategies, PCIPs, BEPs, and EMPs.
- Manage and track DRNs, RFIs, and TQs, ensuring timely issue and response.
- Coordinate design reviews across DSU, MDR, IDC, and CDR phases.
- Prepare and submit design deliverables, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
- Liaise with design teams to ensure deliverables are complete and issued on time.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in design coordination or document control within a rail or construction design environment.
- Proficient in ProjectWise and document control systems.
- Understanding of the design lifecycle and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
