A multi-disciplinary railway turnkey business, capable of undertaking a wide variety of rail projects, from solution recommendations to complete design and construction, is looking to hire a Quality Systems Coordinator.
As a Quality Systems Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) in compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 27001 standards. The role will involve conducting audits, coordinating quality improvement initiatives, and supporting information security risk management. Working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), departmental leads, and project teams, the Quality Systems Coordinator will help embed a culture of continual improvement, operational excellence, and risk-aware decision-making throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 27001 standards.
- Plan and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with IMS and applicable standards.
- Support preparation for external audits and certification renewals (ISO, RISQS, etc.).
- Develop and deliver training sessions on IMS awareness, quality standards, and best practices.
- Support the evaluation and monitoring of supplier performance and quality systems.
- Evaluate supplier audits and advise the procurement department of quality concerns.
- Support the Quality Manager with information security risk assessment and treatment process in accordance with ISO standards.
- Support internal audits and reviews of information security controls, ensuring risk-based decision-making is consistently applied.
- Ensure HSQE and ISMS documentation is accurately maintained, controlled, and aligned with the company IMS processes.
- Prepare regular reports on audit findings, risk trends, and compliance performance.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality assurance or systems coordination role, preferably within the rail, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of ISO Standards.
- Proven experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
- Understanding of process improvement methodologies and root cause analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with document control or quality management software.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively across departments.
- ISO 9001:2015 Auditor or Lead Auditor Certification (essential or willingness to obtain).
- Additional auditor qualifications (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 27001) highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of RISQS compliance, Network Rail standards, or rail industry assurance frameworks.
- Experience supporting Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) or data protection programmes.
- Awareness of business continuity planning and risk-based thinking approaches.
- Strong report writing, data analysis, and presentation skills.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CQI, IQA, or IEMA).
Salary: Circa £40,000 - £48,000 negotiable dependant on experience plus package.
