Rail Project Manager, preferably with a delivery background and contract management experience (NEC would be useful). Able to work autonomously but with support from the wider team, PM's are responsible for delivering turn-key projects from developing and tendering scopes, contract management, and delivery through to handback. PM's will usually be responsible for 2-3 projects at a time depending on size and complexity.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards and key performance indicators are met.
- Contribute to building an inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that go against the FREDIE culture, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
- Ensure own health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring the zero harm principles and just culture is demonstrated in all ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
- Lead on the full turn-key delivery of KAM-led projects, project change, and the full interface management of the Metrolink Capital Works Programme.
- Ensure full compliance with the KAM Project Management System (PMS), including completion of all necessary progress and projects documentation.
- Take ownership of cost tracking and budget management of allocated projects, ensuring compliance with internal and external set standards and procedures.
- Engage with key internal and external stakeholders where necessary, providing appropriate documentation and reporting for the effective management of assigned projects.
- Work with the HSQE team to identify, document and manage project-related risks.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified/experienced in at least one of the following engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical).
- Have undertaken formal Project Management training (ideally holding recognised PM certification, e.g., APM, PRINCE2, etc.).
- At least 3 years Project Management experience (within the heavy or light rail industry desirable).
- Ability to competently produce formal projects documentation, as well as any supporting documentation as necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships and influence and advise at all levels across the business.
- Effective decision maker able to demonstrate an analytical approach to achieving goals.
- Excellent problem solver and ability to work well under pressure.
- Current driving licence.
