Role Purpose: Support the effective coordination and control of engineering design across projects from tender through to construction and handback in the rail environment. Support the Design Manager/CEM in delivering solutions. This role offers the development through to Design Manager.
Role Description: You will support the coordination of multidisciplinary design across a portfolio of rail infrastructure projects. This role will involve input from ECI through design development and assurance, to supporting construction activities.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support the coordination of design activities and maintain design deliverable trackers aligned with project programme.
- Support ensuring: Scope alignment with contract requirements, integration across disciplines and timely delivery of design outputs.
- Support the review of design packages prior to assurance submission: Check for; Coordination and completeness, alignment with scope and requirements and ensure buildability.
- Support the management and close-out of comments, RFIs, and TQs and Identify and raise inconsistencies, risks, or missing information.
- Support communication and design information between designers, engineers, and site teams.
- Attend and contribute to design reviews, coordination meetings, and workshops.
Essential Skills:
- Experience in a rail infrastructure engineering and design environment.
- Relevant Qualification such as Beng or HND/HNC.
- Exposure to design and/or construction delivery.
- Ability to coordinate tasks and manage information effectively.
- Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Good organisational and time management capability.
- Ability to identify issues and raise appropriately.
Desired Skills:
- Site-based engineering experience (e.g. setting out, QA, use of design information).
- Aware of design management processes and project delivery lifecycle.
