Project Overview
We are seeking a competent Highways Site Engineer to handle the setting out, engineering control, and quality assurance for a major highway scheme in Suffolk. This is a secure, ultra-long-term contract package offering 80 weeks of continuous work focusing heavily on deep drainage networks and structural concrete elements. You will be the primary technical presence on the ground for your section, ensuring all civil engineering works are executed precisely to National Highways specifications, design drawings, and strict tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Out: Provide accurate engineering control and setting out for heavy highway infrastructure, specifically deep drainage, attenuation tanks, culverts, and structural concrete/retaining elements.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Establish, manage, and close out ITPs (Inspection Test Plans). Conduct pre-pour inspections, materialise check sheets, and compile comprehensive As-Built surveys.
- Technical Interface: Read and interpret complex highway drawings, structural schedules, and other technical documents.
