Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Highways Site Engineer to lead engineering control, setting out management, and quality assurance for a major highway scheme in Suffolk. This is a secure, ultra-long-term contract package offering 80 weeks of continuous work focusing on complex structural concrete elements. You will serve as a technical lead on the ground for your section, managing junior engineers, guiding site operations, and ensuring all civil engineering works are executed precisely to National Highways specifications, design drawings, and strict tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership
- Setting Out: Oversee complex setting out and engineering controls for heavy highway infrastructure, including deep drainage, attenuation tanks, culverts, and structural concrete/retaining elements.
- Quality Assurance (QA) Management: Establish, manage, and sign off on Inspection Test Plans (ITPs). Conduct pre-pour inspections, review check sheets, and ensure comprehensive As-Built surveys are accurately completed.
