A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sub Agent to join our team on a highway project in the Norwich area. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a project that will improve the region’s infrastructure and transportation network.
What You'll Do
- Play a key role in the successful execution of the highways package, ensuring adherence to project specifications, deadlines, and safety standards.
- Lead and manage the day‑to‑day activities of the earthworks team, including coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Oversee excavation, fill, and compaction operations, ensuring proper techniques, soil management, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain meticulous records of work progress and any issues that arise, including daily site diaries.
- Champion safety on the project, actively promoting a culture of awareness and enforcing the highest safety standards.
- Contribute to the successful completion of the project, meeting deadlines and achieving the highest quality standards.
What We Need
- Proven experience as a Sub Agent on highway or road construction projects, with a particular focus on earthworks.
- Strong technical knowledge of earthworks techniques, soil mechanics, and construction materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing a team and collaborating with stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem‑solving, with a commitment to achieving project goals on time and within budget.
- A strong commitment to safety, with a proven ability to implement and uphold the highest safety standards.
