We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Site Manager to lead a flagship development in Middlesbrough. This is a prominent, high-profile project requiring a heavyweight manager to oversee the scheme through critical phases. This is an initial temporary position with a clear and genuine pathway to transition into a permanent role. As the Senior Site Manager, you will take operational ownership of the project, managing both the external envelope and internal fit-out teams. We need someone who has "been there and done it" - a professional who understands what it takes to drive a major project through its full life cycle from breaking ground to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily on-site operations, ensuring the project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to impeccable quality standards.
- Oversee the full project life cycle, seamlessly managing the transition from external envelope/facade completion through to high-spec internal fit-outs and finishes.
- Coordinate, schedule, and manage multiple sub-contractors, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and productivity.
- Drive a culture of absolute health and safety compliance, regularly reviewing RAMS and conducting site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate closely with the project management team, commercial team, and external stakeholders to flag risks early and implement practical solutions.
- Lead quality control inspections and manage the snagging and handover processes to ensure a flawless finish.
What We Are Looking For
- Full-Cycle Experience: A proven track record as a Senior Site Manager seeing major, large-scale projects through from inception/early stages to final delivery.
- Balanced Expertise: Equal strength and confidence managing both externals (cladding, facades, structures) and internals (fit-out, MEP integration, finishes).
- Tier 1 Background: Prior experience working with a Tier 1 main contractor is highly desirable, bringing the structure, process, and standards required for a landmark scheme.
- Leadership: Strong presence on-site with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive progress under pressure.
Qualifications & Certificates:
- SMSTS
- CSCS Black Card (preferred) or Gold Card
- First Aid at Work
- Fire Marshal certificate (desirable)
