Project Type: Major Infrastructure (Highways, Utilities and Groundworks)

Overview: This rapidly scaling client has a circa £1 billion turnover and has constructed over 100km of highway works. They are currently seeking a Site Engineer with a background in highways/roads to join their team on a major highways project in the Midlands. This is a long-term opportunity for a motivated Site Engineer who has hands-on experience in setting out to join a major project with a reputable business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roadworks & Utilities: Manage the execution of road construction, drainage systems, utility installations, and groundworks as part of the infrastructure project.
  • Surveying & Setting Out: Perform accurate surveying and setting out of the site to ensure the project aligns with design plans and specifications. Ensure the correct use of surveying equipment.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure that the work meets project requirements and is compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the project complies with health and safety regulations, manage safety on-site, conduct risk assessments, and implement safe working practices.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other site engineers to coordinate project activities and ensure smooth site operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Site Engineer, with a focus on highways.
  • Qualifications: A degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in using surveying equipment, setting out tools, and relevant software such as AutoCAD and project management tools.
  • Health & Safety Knowledge: Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and practices.
  • CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card (or equivalent) is required.

Benefits:

  • £33,000-£43,000 per year depending upon experience.
