About the Role

Are you an experienced Section / Senior Production Engineer looking to join one of the UK's flagship infrastructure projects? We are looking for a driven engineering professional to lead site teams, drive lean production, and deliver high-quality works on the Lower Thames Crossing (Roads North) scheme. In this role, you will be instrumental in overseeing day-to-day site operations, managing engineering and design processes, driving environmental sustainability, and coaching the next generation of Site Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme & Production: Produce resourced 3-week lookahead programmes, monitor progress against the stage programme, and apply Lean Production techniques to reduce waste and drive innovation.
  • Engineering & Design: Review permanent and temporary design drawings, resolve technical queries with designers, and mentor engineers on standards, specifications, and setting out.
  • Health, Safety & Well-being: Champion the 'Beyond Zero Harm' programme, conduct weekly safety tours, produce Works Package Plans (WPPs), and maintain high safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Refine and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), perform weekly audits, manage NCRs to resolution, and oversee material approvals.
  • Leadership & Procurement: Lead, coach, and mentor Site Engineers and Apprentices. Delegate and monitor plant and material requisitions within cost plans.
  • Handover & Sustainability: Produce redline drawings, input into O&M manuals/H&S files, and ensure works strictly comply with project carbon and environmental commitments.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven track record in a Section or Senior Production Engineer role, ideally within major highways or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Qualifications: Degree/HND in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Certifications: Valid CSCS card, Full UK Driver's Licence, and a Fit for Work Medical.
  • Vetting: Willingness to undergo a Pre-Start Drug & Alcohol test and BPSS Security Clearance (requires a basic DBS check).
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and commercial awareness with the ability to manage site teams under pressure.
