The Role:
- Lead and supervise a team of operatives on roads and highways construction projects.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Monitor progress against the project schedule and budget.
- Manage materials and resources effectively.
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Resolve on-site issues and problems effectively.
- Ensure that all work complies with the project specifications and drawings.
- Promote a positive and productive working environment within your team.
What We're Looking For:
- A proven track record as a General Foreman or similar role within the roads and highways sector.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of road and highway construction, including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, and other related activities.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Experience working in Edinburgh (or similar urban environment) is preferred.
