I am recruiting for a Commissioning Manager to join a leading consultancy I have worked with for over four years. This is an ongoing freelance position with a business that has consistently received excellent feedback from the contractors I have placed there.

The role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse project portfolio, including Aviation, Rail, and large-scale Commercial developments. You will be joining a specialist consultancy team where you will manage the transition from installation to handover. You will be responsible for ensuring all building services systems are tested, validated, and performing to the required standards.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Oversee and witness the commissioning of mechanical or electrical systems (HVAC, BMS, Power, and Lighting Controls).
  • Review and manage Commissioning Plans, Method Statements, and Site Progress Reports.
  • Work closely with MEP contractors and clients to resolve technical issues on-site.
  • Ensure all works comply with CIBSE/BSRIA guidelines and specific project requirements.
  • Facilitate the smooth handover of systems to the end-user or FM teams.

Requirements:

  • Technical foundation in either mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in a dedicated commissioning role, specifically on commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Relevant CSCS card; PTS or Aviation clearances are advantageous but not essential.
  • Professional communication skills for reporting and managing site meetings.
