About the Role
Are you an experienced M&E Estimator with a proven track record in the Data Centre or critical infrastructure sector? Due to significant growth and a strong pipeline of high-tech projects, we are currently expanding our team in Gerrards Cross and seeking two ambitious M&E Estimators to join us on a permanent basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering accurate, competitive, and highly technical bids for major data centre developments across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate Mechanical & Electrical estimates, tender submissions, and cost plans for mission-critical Data Centre projects.
- Analyze tender documents, specifications, electrical/mechanical drawings, and schedules of rates.
- Perform detailed material and labor take-offs.
- Issue supply chain inquiries, liaise with sub-contractors/vendors, and evaluate quotations for competitiveness and compliance.
- Work closely with pre-construction, commercial, and engineering teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
- Present financial breakdowns and tenders to senior leadership and key project stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience as an M&E Estimator (or M or E specialist) within a main contractor or major M&E sub-contractor.
- Sector Knowledge: Essential experience in Data Centres or high-tech critical environments (e.g., pharmaceutical, cleanrooms, major power infrastructure).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of complex electrical/mechanical systems, power distribution, HVAC, cooling systems, and resilience designs.
- Software: Proficient with estimating software packages (e.g., Trimble/Ensign, Cypher, ConEst) and advanced MS Excel.
- Commute: Based within a realistic commuting distance of Gerrards Cross.
