Job Opportunity: ADT Driver (Articulated Dump Truck)

Sector: Civil Engineering / Earthworks

Location: West Midlands (Projects in Solihull, Birmingham, and Black Country)

Rate: £22 to £24 per hour dependant on experience

Contract Type: Ongoing Contract

The Role

We are looking for a reliable and skilled ADT Driver to join a heavy earthworks team on a major civil engineering project. This role isn't just about driving from point A to point B; it's about operating safely on challenging, changing terrains and working in sync with high-capacity excavators. You will be responsible for moving large volumes of muck and materials across site, ensuring the project keeps pace while adhering to strict safety protocols regarding haul roads and tipping zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Operation: Operating Articulated Dump Trucks (typically 25t to 40t) on steep gradients and uneven ground.
  • Haul Road Management: Adhering to site-specific haulage routes and speed limits to ensure pedestrian and plant safety.
  • Tipping & Loading: Working closely with 360 Excavator Operators and Dozer Drivers to ensure efficient loading and safe, level tipping.
  • Daily Maintenance: Carrying out essential daily checks (fluids, tires, mirrors) and reporting any defects immediately.
  • Site Communication: Maintaining clear radio contact with marshals and other plant operators.

Requirements

  • CPCS/NPORS: Valid Blue Card (A56 or equivalent) is essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience operating ADTs on large-scale civils or muck-shift projects.
  • Driving License: Full UK driving license (Category B).
  • Safety Mindset: A proactive attitude toward Site Safety, especially regarding blind spots and exclusion zones.
  • Medical: Must have (or be willing to undergo) a Safety Critical Medical.
