Overview: As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for managing projects from inception to final account within a well‑established Generalist Building Contractor in Kent. This client has been established for many years and undertakes a variety of generalist projects including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Residential, valued up to £15m. This is an important role within a respected regional contractor, offering the chance to work on diverse schemes.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Commercial Manager.
- Administration and commercial management of projects from procurement to final account, across a variety of sectors (Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential).
- Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), financial forecasts, and cost reports.
- Management and negotiation of variations, claims, and final accounts with subcontractors and the client.
- Assisting in the production and issue of commercial notices to both the Client and Subcontractors.
- Working to maintain profit and margin targets across assigned projects.
Requirements:
- Experience working for a Main Contractor as a Quantity Surveyor/ Project Quantity Surveyor is necessary.
- Ability to manage and commercially control multiple projects or packages at one time.
- Experience across a variety of sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Commercial, or Residential is beneficial.
- Good contractual knowledge and negotiation skills.
- Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline.
