Premises Officer (Handy Person / Fabric Engineer)

Location: Derby (Static Site - No Travel)

Salary: £27,028 per annum

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week) | No Call-Outs / No Weekends

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

Looking for a stable, daytime maintenance role with a great work-life balance? We are hiring a Premises Officer to manage planned and reactive building maintenance at a single, static site in Derby with zero late-night call-outs or weekend work.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabric Maintenance: Painting, decorating, fault finding, and general timber repairs.

• Compliance & Checks: Monthly water tap temperatures, flushing, fire alarm/lighting checks, and meter readings.

• Site Support: Subcontractor supervision, stock ordering, porterage, and minor landscape upkeep.

• Health & Safety: Assisting with site H&S compliance, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS).

Requirements

• Time-served or qualified tradesperson (Fabric / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer).

• Practical experience in building repairs with basic plumbing/electrical knowledge.

• Self-motivated and proactive in identifying and fixing defects.

• Full UK Driving Licence (Role requires passing Police Vetting).
