Are you ready to be the "engine room" of the purchasing function for a large global manufacturer? This role provides a unique chance to join an established and highly cohesive procurement team while gaining exposure to a newly implemented purchasing system. With a major MAC One / SAP implementation planned, you will have the rare opportunity to learn SAP from the ground up and contribute to a major business transformation. This is a strong learning and development opportunity within a critical function that supports the day-to-day effectiveness of the procurement department.
Role Overview
- Location: Desford, UK.
- Pay Rate: Up to £19.45 per hour.
- Contract Duration: 12 months
- Working Hours: 7:00am - 3:00pm, or 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- You will generate and manage both production contract and single definite purchase orders to fulfil business requirements.
- You will be raising purchase orders as part of the daily operations.
- You will liaise with suppliers regarding material deliveries for prototype and engineering requirements.
- You will oversee the delivery of materials to support New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
- You will manage invoice queries and discrepancies.
- You will resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment processing.
- You will update and maintain purchasing systems with accurate and up-to-date pricing details.
- You will provide accurate data to assist Buyers and professionals in areas such as Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) to ensure efficient operations.
- You will ensure continuous compliance with organisational and regulatory requirements and assist with internal and external audit assessments as needed.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in a purchasing, procurement, purchasing administration, or similar administrative environment.
- Administrative experience involving purchasing, procurement, ordering, invoices, or similar transaction activities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to follow compliance-driven processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in Power BI, ERP Systems, and similar applications is required.
- Experience in manufacturing environments, automotive, aerospace, rail, or service industries is preferred.
