Job Title: Asbestos Surveyor
Location: Central Belt, Scotland (Regional site travel)
Salary: £33,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Reports To: Project Manager

The Role:
Are you a career-driven Asbestos Surveyor looking to progress with a highly respected, UKAS-accredited environmental consultancy? We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated professional to join our regional team covering the Central Belt of Scotland.

In this role, you will represent the company on-site, delivering an efficient, professional, and compliant service. You will be responsible for providing clients with reliable asbestos survey data and high-quality reports across a variety of sectors and sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveying & Technical Activities: Competently undertake technical activities associated with asbestos inspection and testing, maintaining strict compliance with statutory requirements and UKAS-accredited management systems.
  • Accurate Reporting: Produce precise, factual survey and sampling information, site plans, and all other relevant documentation.
  • Equipment & Vehicle Care: Ensure all allocated equipment remains continually compliant, calibrated, and maintained, and take appropriate care of your company-provided vehicle.
  • Safety & Compliance: Work safely with consideration for everyone affected by your work, ensuring personal site files and qualifications (such as CSCS) are kept fully up to date.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Provide factual and impartial advice to clients to maintain and foster strong relationships, while communicating effectively with internal teams and assisting in the training of junior staff when required.

About You:

  • Qualifications: You must hold the BOHS P402 (or RSPH equivalent) qualification as a minimum. Holding BOHS W504 (S301) or CoCA is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience surveying premises for asbestos across a variety of sectors and building types.
  • Technical Skills: Highly IT literate, with strong experience collecting and presenting data clearly and concisely (preferably using handheld PDAs).
  • Key Competencies: Excellent communication skills, a proactive "can-do" attitude when interfacing with clients, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Essentials: A full UK driving licence is required.
