Role Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced Technical Coordinator or Engineer looking for a step up? A leading UK Housebuilder is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to join their established regional team in Wolverhampton. This is a pivotal role managing the technical delivery of two complex residential schemes while providing mentorship to a small team of coordinators. This position sits at a level equivalent to a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager, reporting directly to the Technical Team Manager.
The Role
- Lead the design development process from inception to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
- Project Leadership: Take full ownership of two complex development sites.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and support 1-2 junior team members in their daily tasks.
- Design Management: Control the complete design process, managing external consultants and liaising with statutory and local authorities.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet current legislation, Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and Planning requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to drive projects forward proactively.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years within the housing industry as an Engineer or Technical Coordinator.
- Technical Knowledge: Excellent working knowledge of Highways, Drainage, Building Regs, and NHBC Standards.
- Mindset: A proactive, "problem-solving" approach to design development and site-based issues.
- Leadership: Ability to mentor junior staff and manage high-pressure, complex projects.
We are looking for a technical professional with a strong engineering bias. While you may currently be a Technical Coordinator, you must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the engineering elements of a project rather than just architectural elements.
Benefits & Culture
- Competitive salary up to £70k
- Comprehensive benefits package including car allowance and pension.
- Flexible Working: A culture that values in-person collaboration but supports flexible working arrangements where possible.
Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality. We encourage and welcome applications from all sections of society and are more than happy to discuss reasonable adjustments and/or additional arrangements as required to support your application.
