We are seeking a reliable and skilled telehandler driver to join our active new build housing development in Newcastle. This is a focused contract role, offering stable work right up until the Christmas break, with potential for further opportunities in the New Year for the right candidate. If you hold valid certifications and have a proven track record on fast-paced residential sites, we want to hear from you! The Role: As a telehandler driver, you will be a vital part of our site team, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials across a busy new build housing development. Your key duties will include: Operating a telescopic handler to transport a variety of construction materials, including bricks, timber, roof trusses, insulation, plasterboard, and other supplies. Efficiently loading and unloading deliveries from suppliers. Distributing materials to individual plots and various work areas as directed by site management and plot managers, ensuring seamless workflow for other trades. Performing daily machine checks, ensuring the telehandler is safe for operation, and promptly reporting any defects or issues. Adhering strictly to all site health and safety regulations, with particular attention to safe working loads, pedestrian segregation, and site logistics. Collaborating effectively with site managers, plot managers, and various trades (bricklayers, joiners, roofers, etc.). Maintaining a clean and organised working environment around the machine and materials storage areas.Requirements: Valid CPCS or NPORS telehandler certification is essential. Proven experience operating a Telehandler on active new build housing developments. Strong understanding of site health and safety procedures specific to high-traffic residential sites. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow precise instructions on material distribution and site logistics. Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic, capable of maintaining pace with a demanding build schedule. Full UK driving licence.
