Randstad CPE is currently recruiting for a Freelance Design Manager for a Major project near St Albans. Our client is a market leader within Civil engineering and rail.
Responsibilities
- Provide design management support for the earthworks, rail, highways and building works from ECI / inception to final commissioning/financial settlement, and co-ordinate and manage the design consultants appointed for the project.
- Preparation of the project brief.
- Consultant selection and appointment.
- Value management & Engineering.
- Management of the Design Development.
- Managing of the Contractor Design Process.
- Prepare Design Execution Plan.
- Establish and monitor appropriate project operating procedures and systems, specifically ensuring the Design Management Plan is being followed and adhered to.
- Establish project design programme and ensure it is kept up to date.
- Establish & manage procedures for convening and recording meetings which enable the client to review and input into the design, enable the design team to jointly develop design solutions and coordinate their work.
- Review the design development on a regular basis and report on changes which may affect cost, deviations to the design brief, progress of the design.
- Chair/attend Design Value Engineering workshops.
- Chair/attend Design Risk & Opportunity Management workshops.
Requirements
- Managed design of Civils, rail stations or Major Building infrastructure works.
- Be able to chair meetings, manage coordination meetings and deliver designs from Concept stage all the way to a detailed design.
