This is not just another "6-month stint"-we are looking for a commercial heavyweight to join during the critical Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase and lead the project through its entire 5-year delivery cycle.\\n\\nWhy Apply?\\n\\nUnrivalled Longevity: Secure a flagship project with a confirmed 5-year roadmap.\\n\\nECI Phase Influence: Shape the commercial strategy from the ground up during the pre-construction and planning phases.\\n\\nHybrid Flexibility: Enjoy a balanced work week with a 3/2 split between site and home.\\n\\nHigh-Value Exposure: Work on some of the most complex heavy civil engineering and marine works currently in the UK.\\n\\nThe Role: Key Responsibilities & Civil Engineering Duties\\n\\nAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the commercial lead for major work packages, ensuring financial health and contractual compliance under an NEC Option E framework.\\n\\nYour technical duties will include:\\n\\nECI Leadership: Driving cost planning, value engineering, and target price development during the pre-construction phase.\\n\\nNEC Option E Mastery: Managing cost-reimbursable accounts with meticulous attention to "actual cost" auditing, resource substantiation, and Disallowed Cost management.\\n\\nCivil Engineering Commercials: Performing detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, managing site measurements, and overseeing heavy civils packages (earthworks, piling, reinforced concrete, and marine structures).\\n\\nChange Control: Proactively identifying, notifying, and negotiating complex Compensation Events (CEs) and maintaining a robust change register.\\n\\nSubcontractor Management: Leading the end-to-end procurement and management of major specialist subcontractors, from tender through to final account.\\n\\nCommercial Governance: Leading the monthly CVR process, providing accurate forecasting to the JV Board, and managing project risk and opportunity registers.\\n\\nMentorship: Supporting and developing the next generation of surveyors within the project team.\\n\\nCandidate Requirements\\n\\nTo be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a "best-in-class" approach to commercial management within the civil engineering sector.\\n\\nHeavy Civils Background: Proven experience with a Tier 1 Main Contractor on major infrastructure, marine, or heavy civil projects.\\n\\nNEC Option E Specialist: Deep, practical experience administering Option E (Cost Reimbursable) contracts is essential.\\n\\nStrategic Mindset: Experience in ECI, target price development, or open-book accounting is highly advantageous.\\n\\nProfessional Qualifications: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
