An opportunity has arisen for two Senior Quality Control Technicians to join an established team in Basingstoke. You will play a vital role in executing microbiological quality control testing to ensure life-enhancing products consistently meet required safety and performance standard specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological QC testing in line with specified test methods and laboratory SOPs.
- Conduct dehydrated culture media and supplementary reagent testing, as well as media preparation.
- Safely operate laboratory equipment, including autoclaves, and carry out routine equipment checks, audits, cleaning, and waste management.
- Record accurate test results within SAP Quality Management modules and track product progress to provide updates to planning teams.
- Identify and alert Team Leaders of any testing anomalies or failures, assisting with root-cause investigations as needed.
- Active involvement in daily tier board meetings, KPI reporting, and team safety/compliance standards.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Level 6 qualification (Degree/equivalent) in Microbiology or a related scientific field, or equivalent experience (applicants currently studying towards Level 6 will also be considered).
- Laboratory Experience: Hands-on experience with quality control testing in a microbiology laboratory setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in core microbiological techniques (e.g., pipetting, swabbing, streaking, plate pouring).
- Software: Familiarity with MS Office packages; prior experience using SAP is highly advantageous.
- Core Aptitudes: Strong numerical skill set, precise attention to detail when following written instructions/SOPs, and an accountable, quality-first mindset.
