We are working with an established, family owned and operated specialist contractor who are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team on site near Castle Cary. The project is a high end, bespoke residential development for a private client with a focus on quality across procurement and delivery. The scheme is being delivered on a JCT form of contract, so needs someone with experience of working with a regional or Tier 1 business.

The role involves getting involved at estimating stages to help with pricing and programming queries and passing on your practical on site experience to the bid teams. You will then firm up enquiries and convert them into subcontract orders, place orders, and manage pre-starts on site, taking responsibility to manage the packages through to completion on site.

You will be looking after all the usual responsibilities on site - payments, valuations, variation accounts, remeasures, forecasting, CVR prep, etc., and working closely with the site management team to deliver the scheme on time. You will have a lot of autonomy on site to make real-time decisions, and you will be fully backed by head office support functions, reporting into the Regional Commercial Manager.
