Job Title: Traffic Marshall / Site Gateman
Location: West Sussex
Start Date: Monday, 5th October 2026
Contract Duration: Ongoing / Long-Term
Pay Rate: £15.00 - £16.50 per hour (dependent on pay type)
About the Role
We are recruiting a reliable, safety-conscious Traffic Marshall / Site Gateman for an ongoing construction project starting on Monday, 5th October 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle Guidance: Safely directing construction traffic, delivery lorries, and heavy plant in and out of the site using standard hand signals.
- Gate Management: Logging all incoming/outgoing deliveries, checking delivery notes, and directing drivers to designated unloading areas.
- Pedestrian & Site Safety: Managing pedestrian segregation near gates and keeping public walkways clear of site hazards.
- General Site Support: Assisting with light site duties and sweeping gate areas during quieter delivery periods.
- Strictly enforcing the site traffic management plan and health & safety protocols.
Requirements
- Valid Traffic Marshall / Vehicle Banksman Ticket (CPCS, NPORS, or Lantra accredited essential).
- Valid CSCS Card (Green Labourer card or above).
- Full PPE (High-vis jacket & hi-vis trousers, steel toe boots, hard hat, and safety gloves).
- Previous experience managing busy construction gates and site traffic.
- Excellent communication skills, punctual, and reliable.
- Right to work in the UK.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (40-45 hours per week).
- Start Date: Monday, 5th October 2026.
- Duration: Long-term ongoing work.
- Weekly pay via CIS, Umbrella, or PAYE options.
