Key Responsibilities

  • Site Operations: Assist the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring the project stays on schedule.
  • Trade Management: Coordinate, supervise, and motivate subcontractors and direct labor to ensure high productivity and quality workmanship.
  • Health & Safety: Champion on-site Health & Safety, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and HSE regulations. Conduct inductions and regular site inspections.
  • Quality Control: Drive quality standards across all phases of the build, taking pride in delivering defect-free homes ready for NHBC/LABC sign-off and customer handover.
  • Material Management: Assist with calling off materials and managing site deliveries.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate site diaries, update progress reports, and resolve day-to-day issues on the ground.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in the residential sector and possess the following:

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Site Manager (or a highly experienced tradesperson ready to take the step up) on new build housing projects.
  • Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  • Valid CSCS Management card.
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work certificate.
  • A solid understanding of traditional build methods and NHBC standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive trades effectively.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
