We are recruiting a Site Agent to join a leading civil engineering main contractor on a major transport infrastructure project in Havant. The scheme involves constructing a new bridge spanning a rail line, requiring an operational leader who comes directly from a strong civil engineering background to manage the site delivery from the ground up.
The Role
- Operational Delivery: Leading daily site operations to ensure the bridge structures, deep foundations, and civil engineering packages are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Engineering Oversight: Leveraging your technical background to drive precise engineering standards, manage temporary works, and resolve complex technical queries on site.
- Subcontractor & Resource Management: Coordinating multi-disciplinary sub-contractors, direct labor, and plant allocations to maintain lookahead schedules.
- HSEQ Leadership: Enforcing exemplary health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across the site, leading briefings, and ensuring strict adherence to RAMS.
- Commercial & Client Interface: Keeping accurate site diaries, capturing variations or scope changes alongside the commercial team, and acting as a key point of contact for client representatives.
Essential Requirements
- Engineering Background (Essential): A proven track record starting out as a Site/Section Engineer before stepping up into management-degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering is required.
- Structures & Civils Track Record: Strong experience as a Site Agent managing heavy civil engineering projects, bridge structures, or major highways infrastructure.
- Site Credentials: Valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work.
- Rail Proximity (Desirable): A PTS card is beneficial but not essential, as the core package is purely civil engineering focused.
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
