Are you an innovative Temporary Works Design Engineer looking to make a tangible impact on major projects? We are currently partnering with an international infrastructure group who are leading the transformation of industry to meet the challenges of the future. They are seeking a skilled professional to join their team. Location: Derby or Canary Wharf
Contract: Start ASAP, with an end date of 21/09/2027
Rate: Β£480 per day Umbrella
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)
In this role, you will deliver high-quality, buildable, and safe temporary works designs for Major Projects and other business units. Acting as a technical expert, your key accountabilities will include:
- Reviewing temporary works design briefs and managing the allocation of work, including managing the workload for CAD Engineers, Technicians, or Operators.
- Undertaking both repetitive and complex structural engineering and geotechnical calculations.
- Verifying and delivering temporary works designs to time and budget constraints.
- Providing expert technical support and contributing to methodology workshops, buildability sessions, and VE workshops to identify innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Ensuring design risks are fully considered, preparing Design Risk Assessments, and exercising designers' obligations under the CDM Regulations.
- Assisting with design assurance through audits.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, backed by extensive experience and thorough knowledge of engineering principles.
- Strong numerical capability with the ability to assimilate data, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Excellent communication, report writing, interpersonal, and influencing skills to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
