Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEICA Commissioning Engineer to join an infrastructure contractor delivering critical water and wastewater asset upgrades across Dorset. This ongoing contract offers long-term stability: you will take ownership of active AMP7 delivery schemes and drive them seamlessly into the AMP8 investment cycle, overseeing the full commissioning lifecycle through to formal client Takeover. Operating across clean water (WTW) and wastewater facilities (WwTW), you will lead the testing, integration, and operational verification of complex mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning Strategy & Technical Management: Author and manage Project Commissioning Plans and testing procedures from outline design to full site execution. Ensure all MEICA works comply with water authority standards and WIMES regulations. Coordinate with client Asset Operations Teams to integrate new plant with live site assets without disruption.
- Testing & Asset Takeover: Manage and document Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), dry testing, and full wet commissioning. Lead the systematic resolution of site snags and performance trials for formal Takeover. Engage early with DSEAR specialists and OEM vendors to complete O&M documentation on schedule.
- Health & Safety: Establish and enforce rigorous MEICA safe systems of work across all active commissioning zones. Apply strict mechanical/electrical safety rules, acting as an appointed LV Electrical Authorised Person (LV EAP) where required.
Requirements & Certifications
- Water Sector Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience delivering MEICA and commissioning packages in the UK water sector (AMP6, AMP7, or AMP8).
- Technical Breadth: Strong working knowledge of pumps, switchgear, MCCs, telemetry, PLCs, chemical dosing, screens, and filtration assets.
- Mandatory Tickets: Full UK Driving Licence, CSCS/ECS Card, EUSR National Water Hygiene Card, SSSTS (minimum) or SMSTS (preferred), and BS7671 (18th Edition).
- Desirable: Authorised Person Low Voltage Training (AP / EAP), DSEAR / CompEx ExF, PROFIBUS Commissioning, and First Aid at Work.
