Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to join a major water infrastructure framework in Dagenham. This long-term contract opportunity focuses on the delivery of capital upgrade projects within the AMP8 investment cycle, overseeing the installation and enhancement of critical mechanical assets. The scope of works includes complex mechanical packages featuring storage tanks, chemical bund installations, large-diameter high-pressure pipework networks, and pumping systems. You will act as the lead technical supervisor on the ground, directing mechanical sub-contractors to ensure safety, quality, and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Supervision: Direct and coordinate all mechanical sub-contractors and supply chain partners across fabrication, erection, and installation phases.
  • Technical Compliance: Read, interpret, and work strictly from Isometric, General Arrangement (GA), and P&ID engineering drawings.
  • Quality Control & Testing: Witness and sign off on quality checks, including pressure testing, hydrostatic testing of pipework, and non-conformance management.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Review and sign off on RAMS, deliver site inductions and toolbox talks, and maintain strict site safety and environmental protocols.
  • Progress Reporting: Maintain daily site logs, track mechanical installation milestones, and report directly to the M&E Project Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Water Sector Experience: Proven track record supervising mechanical packages within the UK water sector under AMP frameworks.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of process plant, pumps, valves, chemical dosing/bunds, and PVC/steel pipework systems.
  • Mandatory Tickets: Gold CSCS Card (Supervisor) and EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
  • Desirable / Key Advantage: Authorised Person (AP) certification (Mechanical or Pressure Systems) is highly desirable and offers a significant advantage. Confined Spaces training and SSSTS/SMSTS are also beneficial.
