At Randstad, we are delighted to partner with a leading, well-established UK compliance specialist to recruit a dedicated Water Hygiene Engineer to join their team. Holding a nationwide presence with multiple offices across the UK and an excellent reputation for delivering a first-class, quality-focused service, our client is expanding rapidly following major recent contract wins.

As a water hygiene engineer you will play a vital role in upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will travel to diverse client sites to perform detailed legionella risk assessments, carry out essential water sampling, and deliver actionable recommendations to ensure systems meet all health and safety requirements.

Location: Midlands

Salary: £29,000 - £38,000

Hours: 40 hours per week

Position Type: Full-Time

Package: 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays. Dedicated company van provided with an included fuel card. Company pension scheme, Sick Pay, Life Assurance, Health Cash Plan, and a company credit card for expenses.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legionella risk assessments in line with relevant legislation and company procedures, producing detailed, accurate risk assessment reports and schematics using specialist software.
  • Carry out temperature monitoring and water sampling for legionella, TVCs, E. coli, coliforms, free chlorine, and microbial contamination.
  • Perform showerhead cleaning and descaling, TMV servicing, cold water storage tank cleaning and chlorination, as well as closed system sampling, analysis, and chemical dosing.
  • Identify potential risk areas, present clear recommendations for mitigation, and support clients in implementing effective water hygiene programs.
  • Provide professional technical guidance on routine monitoring, maintenance, and disinfection activities while completing detailed inspection reports on site.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Must hold L8 (Legionella) Certification
  • Holds a valid Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven background within the water hygiene industry and hands-on experience as a Legionella Risk Assessor.
  • Excellent communication skills with a flexible approach to travel and working hours (including occasional weekend or out-of-hours shifts).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce highly accurate factual reports on site.
