About the Role:
Our client, a leading property maintenance and facilities management specialist across the South of England, is seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic Building Fabric Technician to join their dynamic team in Horsham. This permanent position is ideal for an operative with a core background in Carpentry or Plumbing who enjoys varied, multi-trade commercial maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks across commercial properties.
- Diagnose and rectify repairs within your primary trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) and complete secondary trade tasks as needed.
- Respond swiftly to emergency maintenance calls and work collaboratively with other engineering technicians.
- Maintain accurate digital records, job updates, and photographic evidence of completed work via PDA/phone.
- Support management with COSHH inventories, risk assessments, and maintain company vehicles and tools in clean, safe condition.
- Participate in the emergency out-of-hours call-out rota.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry OR Plumbing (or equivalent qualification).
- Demonstrated capability in at least 2 secondary trades to a high standard.
- 2-5 years of experience in a commercial property maintenance or FM environment.
- Full UK Driving License (Clean preferred).
- Ability to pass a standard DBS check.
- CSCS card, PASMA, or IPAF certificates are desirable.
