About the Role

Are you an experienced Site Quality Inspector looking to champion standard-setting execution on a flagship civil infrastructure project? We are seeking a Quality Inspector to act as our first line of defence on-site at the Heywood Interchange project. Operating directly on the front line, you will drive a proactive quality culture by coaching site delivery teams, leading site inspections, and resolving technical non-conformance's before they reach senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • First Line of Defence: Coach, train, and support delivery teams and subcontractors to promote a "Right First Time" quality mindset.
  • On-Site Inspections: Conduct rigorous site inspections against approved Detailed Designs, Work Information, and client specifications across civil disciplines (piling, precast concrete, earthworks, and surfacing).
  • Technical Quality Champion: Act as the site arbiter on quality issues, collaborating closely with the Lead Designer to ensure full compliance.
  • ITPs & Handover Compliance: Assist with the compilation and sign-off of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring all hold points and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are strictly followed.
  • Communication & Reporting: Represent the Quality department in daily Start of Shift meetings and Collaborative Planning sessions; escalate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and site issues to Senior Quality Engineers and Managers.
  • Surveillance: Support Quality Engineers with continuous site surveillance and handover documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven track record as a Quality Inspector / Site QA Inspector on major Civil Engineering projects (e.g., piling, earthworks, concrete, surfacing).
  • Extensive hands-on experience in on-site design compliance checks and NCR management.
  • Active and relevant CSCS Card.
  • Certified on-site Quality training.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting.

Desirable:

  • Experience in quality management on major highways/roads infrastructure projects.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts.
