About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Production Operator to join our team at our facility near Fakenham. In this role, you will support the wider production team in creating high-quality malted ingredients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, adaptable, and wants to develop a multi-skilled career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plant Operations: Operate plant equipment to optimum performance levels to meet the production schedule. This includes transferring grain through key production stages like Steeping, Germination, and Kilning.
- Quality & Process Control: Follow production process cards exactly according to the recipe. Take routine samples for visual inspections and moisture content analysis, documenting all findings accurately.
- Maintenance & Engineering: Work closely with the engineering department to report faults using our CMMS system, helping to minimize production downtime.
- Hygiene & Food Safety: Maintain production areas to high hygiene standards to meet food safety and HACCP plans. Duties include day-to-day cleaning tasks such as sweeping and pressure washing, as well as completing cleaning documentation.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues by adhering to Safe Systems of Work, wearing correct PPE, and reporting any accidents, near-misses, or hazards.
What We Are Looking For
- Essential:
- Experience: Previous experience working within a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a fast-paced environment to meet strict process timings.
- Availability: Fully able to commit to a 4 on, 4 off day shift rotation.
- Traits: Enthusiastic, curious to learn, resilient, and adaptable to change.
- Desirable (But not essential): Previous experience in food production.
