Working Hours: 36.5 hours per week (Early finish Fridays)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Professional to join our facility team in Peterlee. This is a hands-on role supporting the production of large-scale heavy machinery. You will act as the vital link between our suppliers and the manufacturing floor, ensuring a lean and resilient flow of materials from source to dock. The unique aspect of this role is flexibility; we are looking for a strong procurement background and can adapt the supplier portfolio to match your specific technical expertise - particularly if you have experience with foundries, castings, or metallurgical suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve any facility-specific supply issues.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction and inventory optimization.
  • Use MRP systems to monitor schedules, oversee orders, and ensure realistic delivery dates.
  • Monitor supply network performance against cost, quality, and lean targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess risks and deliver sound business proposals.

Working Schedule

Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30

Friday: 08:00 - 12:30 (Half day)
