Senior Engineering & Compliance Manager
We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Manager to champion Engineering and Compliance for our Facilities Operations in the Oxford, UK area.
This pivotal role will lead and mentor a small, dedicated onsite team and manage a network of approved contractors, ensuring technical excellence and continuous improvement across all facilities engineering and maintenance activities. You will be the driving force behind fostering a culture of high performance, reliability, and stringent compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading all technical services, engineering, and maintenance functions for a key site.
- Driving the adoption of best practices in Maintenance and Reliability (M&R) tools and concepts, with a focus on risk–based failure mitigation and long–term sustainability.
- Ensuring full statutory and contract compliance across critical elements like Fire, Legionella, FGAS, and LEV.
- Utilizing CMMS data for in–depth analysis and developing effective reliability action plans.
- Overseeing budget control, KPI achievement, and the timely, cost–effective maintenance program for all mechanical and electrical assets.
- Contributing technical expertise to new equipment installations and the site\'s Capital Plan.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar senior maintenance and reliability leadership role.
- Strong Mechanical/Electrical foundation with a sound understanding of automation.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor teams (in–house and contractors) and effectively communicate at all levels.
- A minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely is required. Experience in a R&D/Science environment is highly desirable.
