A main contractor is currently seeking to recruit a Site Engineer for a new build steel frame school project in Essex. The project is currently in its early stages, the main contractor started on site last month.
As a site engineer, you will be responsible for QA and the day to day management of the subcontractor engineers. You will ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in line with specifications.
Main duties will include:
- Checking setting out works as required for the project
- Undertaking daily inductions
- Maintaining a site diary
- Undertaking pre pour check for concrete pours
- Undertaking certain environmental monitoring requirements (specific training will be provided)
- Undertaking weekly checks and completing a task list as outlined by the Project Manager
- Checking setting out instruments weekly/monthly
- Resolve setting out queries and raise necessary RFIs in relation to these
- General responsibility for site safety
- Management of section 278 works
