I am currently seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join my client, a tier 2 contractor who specialise in Civils, Structures, Groundworks and Enabling Works on a permanent basis. My client is currently very busy working on a multi million pound infrastructure project and need your help to ensure the work is completed correctly.
This position is going to be based in the Suffolk area. You will need to be able to work on site every day. Our client can provide lodge to those who cannot commute.
Reporting to the Head of Environment & Sustainability, you will be required to promote the pursuit of excellence and continuous improvement of environmental, sustainability and community relations aspects of the project.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Have expert knowledge in and demonstrate the requirements of the Environmental and Sustainability policies
- Be familiar with and deliver requirements of the UK Health and Safety and Environment Policies and IFE programme.
- Develop, update and review the Environmental Management System
- Advise and support project team with managing their environmental and sustainability responsibilities
- Promote continuous improvement of environmental performance on specific projects.
- Provide advice, support and assistance to all project personnel to enable them to manage their environmental responsibilities.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree qualified in an environmental discipline or equivalent
- Previous experience of project management within the civil and rail industry
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- A valid CSCS card
