Salary: Circa £47k starting rate (dependent upon experience)
Hours: Permanent night shift
Shift Pattern: Sunday to Wednesday (22:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m.) and Thursday (22:00 p.m. to 05:00 a.m.). Total Hours: 40 hours per week.
Overtime: Must be available and willing to work overtime when required. Overtime rates apply for additional hours beyond 40 hours per week:
- Time and a Half: Hours worked between 06:00 hrs Monday and 22:00 hrs Saturday.
- Double Time: Hours worked between 22:00 hrs Saturday and 22:00 hrs Sunday.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will utilize their working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to conduct maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on existing systems - including fixed wiring and machine control - within an industrial/manufacturing setting. You will also assist in the installation of new electrical and mechanical systems, maintaining them while strictly upholding safety guidelines, codes, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Working in line with health and safety regulations and following strict operating procedures, you will collaborate with the current maintenance team to:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems in commercial and industrial systems (including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring).
- Install electrical systems to 17th/18th edition wiring regulations.
- Use electrical test equipment to isolate and identify faults across a multitude of circuits.
- Assess required components for specific tasks and place orders for parts.
- Conduct routine maintenance on a range of production machinery and commercial electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Ensure all installations meet site standards, including LV systems, motor starters, control circuits, and feedback loops.
- Work independently to identify, isolate, and report faults or concerns in electro-mechanical systems without requiring explicit direction.
- Perform root cause analysis on faults or line performance issues, implementing corrective actions to eliminate repeat failures.
- Utilize internal systems to accurately input engineering maintenance data.
