This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to maintaining safe and comfortable homes for residents across Basildon and surrounding areas.

About the Role
As a Domestic Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical maintenance, repairs, testing, and installations within domestic properties and social housing across the Basildon Borough. Your work will directly enhance the lives of our residents, ensuring their homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform reactive and planned electrical maintenance and repairs in occupied and void properties.
- Conduct electrical fault finding and diagnostics efficiently and effectively.
- Carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and other testing, ensuring compliance with BS7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
- Undertake minor electrical installations and upgrades.
- Ensure all work adheres to current electrical regulations, safety standards, and the policies.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicating clearly and respectfully with tenants and residents.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other trades to ensure timely completion of works.
What We are Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018).
- City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing) or equivalent (e.g., 2391-52).
- Proven experience working as an Electrician in a domestic or social housing environment.
- Full UK Driving License.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
