Position Electrical Estimator Location Wakefield Day rate £200 IR35 scope Tbc *Perfect role for someone who has been working as an Electrical Supervisor, Electrical Engineer, or Electrician, who also has some experience within an office environment and working on computer software* Randstad are working alongside a large tier 1 contractor who provide hard and soft FM services, grounds maintenance and energy services for single and multi-site locations throughout the UK. They work across sectors including commercial, residential, education and healthcare, assuring our customers of high-quality, best value and a sustainable approach. The Estimator, collaborating seamlessly with the broader team, holds the responsibility of delivering precise cost assessments for repairs, maintenance, and projects. The Estimator will consider all pertinent information about each job and provide detailed information on the costs involved in carrying out the work. Responsibilities: Meet with contractors in order to obtain a quote for the work that needs to be carried out. Develop and ensure the accuracy of prices provided to the Client, in line with the Schedule of Rates Provide a cost-effective estimating service for works required to the Council's public buildings providing cost estimates to service users, both internal and external. Take responsibility for the financial accountability of building and specialist work, monitoring of budgets, and work programmes. Attend meetings and prepare reports to take an active role in the estimating service, working independently to offer innovative and appropriate solutions and outcomes to service users. Develop and specify new work, remedial work and any other work requested by the Client to enable in-house or external contractors to deliver the best solutions. Ensure that all priced work complies with statutory legislation and regulations. Provide bills of quantities, schedules, and estimates to enable projects to be procured effectively and efficiently. Skills and qualifications: HNC/HND qualification or equivalent technical qualifications and/or experience in an appropriate discipline. Strong IT skills including MS Word & MS Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Ability and desire to work as part of a team. Willingness to travel across the relevant region. Can work autonomously with minimal supervision organising and prioritising own workload. Experience working with external stakeholders and end user clients. Experience working within the "as-built" environment in a technical role.If this position sounds of interest, please click apply!
