I am looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to join my client, a well-established Commissioning Consultancy who are looking to bring someone new into the team.

This is an ongoing freelance role where you will be assessed for outside of IR35.

The selected candidates will come from either a rail, infrastructure, commercial or residential background but have the right attitude to help build a business around them whilst working on both exciting and challenging projects.

I am looking for someone who has worked in this capacity for a long time and keen to manage a large project with a tier 1 contractor as the client.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the Commissioning Plan and testing scripts to ensure they align with the project's specific technical requirements and the contractor's master schedule.
  • Witness and formally sign off on all Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) for critical infrastructure equipment like HV/LV switchgear and backup power systems.
  • Lead the safe energisation process by overseeing strict Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and managing the transition from a construction site to a live electrical environment.
  • Coordinate integrated system testing to verify that electrical packages work seamlessly with other infrastructure services like SCADA, fire life safety, and ventilation.
  • Identify and track technical defects through a punch list, ensuring the contractor completes all remedial works before the system is offered for final handover.
  • Verify and collate all final certification and 'as-built' documentation to ensure the Health and Safety File meets the stringent standards required for UK infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Commissioning Manager in the past.
  • A background in either infrastructure or building construction projects.
  • A background in Electrical Engineering.
  • CSCS.

If you are interested in this role please apply with your CV or contact Morgan Butcher at Randstad CPE - London.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
