Are you an experienced Highways Site Agent looking for a high-profile, fast-paced contract in the heart of London? We are partnering with a highly reputable highways subcontractor to recruit a Site Agent for a major streetscape public realm improvement scheme in Central London. This is a logistically complex, high-visibility urban civils project. If you have a strong track record delivering TfL or major municipal highways term maintenance contracts, this is the perfect project to add to your portfolio.
The Scope of WorksThis scheme is heavily focused on modernizing Central London's road infrastructure. Your day-to-day delivery footprint will include:
- Roadworks & Resurfacing: Structural pavement upgrades and resurfacing.
- Active Travel & Accessibility: Executing walking/cycling paths and step-free accessibility upgrades.
- Urban Realm & Public Transport: Enhancing local bus infrastructure and public realm spaces.
- Associated Civils: Deep drainage, street lighting installation, and lining/signing packages.
Reporting to the Project Manager and occasionally deputising for the Works Manager, you will:
- Drive On-Site Delivery: Manage day-to-day project execution, keeping works on schedule, on budget, and up to quality standards.
- Lead Site Teams: Direct and motivate on-site crews, including both direct labor and specialist sub-contractors.
- Resource Management: Coordinate plant, labor, and materials efficiently to minimize downtime in a tight central London footprint.
- H&S & Quality Assurance: Enforce strict on-site health and safety compliance, manage permits to dig, and implement robust quality control procedures.
- Client Interface: Maintain positive, professional communication with the client and local authority stakeholders.
- Proven Track Record: Solid experience acting as a Site Agent on highways, urban realm, or civil engineering schemes (TfL or highways term contract experience is highly encouraged).
- Strong Leadership: A natural leader who knows how to manage multi-disciplinary site teams and sub-contractors.
- Technical Foundations: An ONC, HNC, or Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Core Tickets: SMSTS, CSCS Black/Gold Card, and a certificate in Site Safety Management.
- NRSWA (Street Works) Supervisor ticket is highly desirable.
